“Nature's Reflections" invites viewers to enjoy physical reflections seen in natural elements like water, and metaphorical reflections, where the natural world serves as a source of inspiration, insight, or a mirror for human emotions. It encompasses the literal phenomenon of an image appearing on a surface and the deeper symbolic and philosophical concept of nature inspiring contemplation and revealing truths about ourselves and the world.
Artist Caitlin Lodato frequently paints peaceful scenes from her own experiences in nature. While recreating a landscape it gives the artists the opportunity to reflect on a serene place or memory, to not only recreate the physical scene, but to capture the mood and the feeling. She often is focused on the feel of the light and the way it can dramatically shift the colors and mood in a space.
About the Artist
Caitlin Lodato is an award-winning Fine Art Painter residing in Denville, New Jersey. She owns a small art business, Hazy Moon Studios, where she sells original paintings, creates commissioned works, and curates fine art for local businesses and home galleries. She specializes in oil and acrylic painting. Her preferred subjects include capturing dramatic light and its effects on color in landscapes. She also enjoys creating paintings that capture the way color changes in movement.
